Campaign Against Kaiser’s Mental Health Neglect

The Deviled Eggery entered the mental health advocacy scene with programming around helping Kaiser patients learn how to file complaints against Kaiser for their negligent health care. The campaign resulted in several newspaper articles, multiple formal complaints against Kaiser, testimony to the Department of Managed Health Care as part of their investigation against Kaiser, and more attention being focused on their malpractice. Litigation is currently in process, and Deviled Eggery’s co-founder Mary Beth (MB) Leland’s case against Kaiser has been featured in a local paper, resulting in more attention on the cause.

The Deviled Eggery is committed to supporting those struggling to get support from Kaiser’s negligent practices. After the story about MB was published, our inboxes filled up with messages from dozens of community members, reaching out to privately tell us their Kaiser nightmares. We even sat with many of these people one night and as they shared together what it would be like to be in the paper, exposing their very private business with the people in the community who know them so well.
