Decades of Fun(d)-Raising

“Decades” was an art exhibit and fundraiser featuring 12 artists, ranging in ages from 9-89 years old, with at least one artist representing each of the decades in between. It was simultaneously a display of visual art and also an artisan sale, with more than 25 local vendors donating their art, to be “sold” - with the payment being a donation to Una Vida, a Petaluma food security organization.

We chose the theme “Decades” because we don’t see intergenerational programs happening often enough, and we wanted to bring artists together who might not ever find themselves in the same room together, sharing their perspectives, through art, across a century. We all benefit when we come together across generations to share our creativity and work for our community.

Over 250 attendees enjoyed the show and sale, and donated a total of over $4,000 in our first fully public event. We were ecstatic that this event was successful to families and friends across generations, building connections and providing both visibility and an opportunity to support a great local organization, Una Vida.
